Update your existing installation
Beta.28 is included with your existing purchase. Keep your licence key and use one of these update paths.
- Finish your game and stop the Windows launchers inside IgniteX.
- Choose IgniteX > Check for Updates and follow the prompts.
- If your version has no update menu, including beta.4, open your original purchase email or Lemon Squeezy orders. Download the current full installer, open the DMG and replace IgniteX in Applications. Open IgniteX and choose Check for Updates to receive the latest signed update.
Your existing library layout and saved settings are retained. If you need help, contact support with your Mac model, macOS version, IgniteX build and game or launcher name. Keep your licence key private.
Step by step
What happens after purchase
- Open the purchase email. Lemon Squeezy sends the IgniteX download and your licence key after checkout. Bought on your phone? Open that email on your Mac to install. You can also find your purchase in Lemon Squeezy orders. Keep the key private.
- Install the Mac app. Open the DMG, drag IgniteX into Applications, and launch it. The app is notarized for macOS.
- Follow the guided setup. IgniteX prepares its compatibility engine, offers Rosetta 2 if it is missing, and downloads the Steam client directly from Valve. The initial Steam client is about 600 MB before its own updates.
- Activate when prompted. Paste the licence key from the purchase email. One key covers one active Mac. You can deactivate it and move it to another Mac later.
- Sign in to Steam and choose a game. Your Steam credentials go to Valve, not IgniteX. Install a supported game you own and press Play. Games and a Steam account are not included.
- Stop Steam inside IgniteX when finished. This closes the remaining Windows processes cleanly instead of leaving them running in the background.
If macOS asks for confirmation
On the first launch, macOS may ask you to confirm opening an app downloaded from the internet. Open the copy in Applications and follow that prompt. If macOS says the app is damaged or cannot be verified, download the current installer from your purchase again. If the warning remains, contact support with the exact message before continuing.
Time and free space
Allow roughly 10 GB for IgniteX, its engine, and the Steam client, plus storage for every game. First launch takes longer because Steam downloads, unpacks and verifies its files, and may apply another update before sign-in. A completed download is not necessarily the end of setup. Keep your Mac awake and online while progress continues.
If an error appears or the status stops changing, follow the first-launch troubleshooting steps and preserve your logs. If Steam opens but your game does not, use the game launch troubleshooting checklist.
Check compatibility first
No compatibility layer runs every Windows game. Anti-cheat, launchers, game updates, your Mac, and graphics settings can change the result. Use the 777-game catalog and recorded tests before buying.
