Terms of use & end-user licence agreement

Plain-language summary, with the binding detail below: you buy a personal licence to use IgniteX on your own Macs to run games you already own. You may not resell or redistribute IgniteX, or use it to defeat anti-cheat. We can't promise every game runs, which is why refunds exist.

1. Licence grant

Subject to these terms, IgniteX grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the IgniteX application on Apple Silicon Macs that you own or control, for your personal use. A single purchase may be activated on up to a small number of your own devices, as shown at purchase. IgniteX is licensed, not sold.

2. What you may not do

  • Resell, sublicense, rent, or redistribute the IgniteX application or your licence key.
  • Use IgniteX to circumvent, disable, or interfere with anti-cheat systems, DRM, or any technical protection measure.
  • Use IgniteX to play games you do not lawfully own, or in violation of the Steam Subscriber Agreement or any game's terms.
  • Reverse-engineer IgniteX's own proprietary code, except where that restriction is prohibited by law or permitted by the licences of bundled open-source components.
  • Remove or alter proprietary notices.

The open-source components IgniteX bundles (Wine, DXMT, MoltenVK and others) are provided under their own licences — see open-source attributions. Nothing here restricts your rights under those licences.

3. Steam, Valve, and your games

IgniteX is an independent product, not affiliated with or endorsed by Valve Corporation. IgniteX does not include the Steam client — you download it from Valve and use it under Valve's Steam Subscriber Agreement. You are responsible for your Steam account, your games, and complying with the terms that govern them. "Steam" and all game titles are trademarks of their respective owners.

4. Compatibility & warranty disclaimer

Whether any particular game runs, and how well, depends on that game, on macOS and third-party components outside our control, and on your Mac's hardware. We publish an honest compatibility catalog, but only a small number of titles are verified by hand — everything else is a prediction. IgniteX is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law, including any implied warranty that a specific game will run or perform to a given standard. Your remedy if it doesn't work for you is the refund described in our refund policy.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, IgniteX and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from use of the software. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including for death, personal injury, or fraud), and your mandatory statutory consumer rights are unaffected. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the licence.

6. Term, updates & changes

This licence lasts until terminated. It ends automatically if you breach these terms or if you receive a refund. We may update IgniteX and may revise these terms; material changes will be posted here with a new "last updated" date. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection rights of your country of residence in the EU. Disputes are subject to the competent Czech courts, again without affecting mandatory consumer rights.
